Community members can speak directly to the Land Access Ombudsman when the LAO team visits FarmFest on Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 June 2021.
Land Access Ombudsman, Jane Pires said that the LAO is excited to be attending their first FarmFest event and is looking forward to chatting directly with community members at the event.
“Being on the ground at events like FarmFest provides direct access to our dispute resolution service for landholders, resource company employees, professionals, and community members.
“FarmFest provides one large community arena for industry bodies, resource authorities and community members to come together.
“And it’s a great opportunity to meet with us in a relaxed environment and find out about the FREE dispute resolution services provided by the LAO,” she said.
“We want to make sure that people get the help they need, and visiting the show is about letting the people of the region, and surrounds, know that we are there when they need us”.
Land Access Ombudsman, Jane Pires, will be at the event in person to talk to community members.
The LAO encourages anyone unsure about a matter to reach out while the team are in town to talk through their situation.
“Community members with specific issues can contact the LAO by phone for confidential support about resolving a dispute or simply ask questions about a matter in private,” the Ombudsman said.
“We will do our best to start resolving an issue and if we can’t, we will connect people with the right help,” Ms Pires said.
The LAO provides an independent and trustworthy avenue for resolving disputes between landholders and resource companies over alleged breaches of Conduct and Compensation or Make Good Agreements.
The LAO stand will be located at site 10 in the Market Place at FarmFest during event hours.
